Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Unfiltered Naari’ brings Gujarati story to Hindi viewers

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan’s Gujarati debut film, originally titled ‘Fakt Mahilao Maate’, has now been made accessible to Hindi-speaking viewers under the title ‘Unfiltered Naari’. The Hindi version became available for streaming on ShemarooMe from 10th July.

Directed by Jay Bodas, ‘Unfiltered Naari’ follows the story of Chintan Parikh, a young man who finds himself overwhelmed by the women in his life. The narrative takes a unique turn when Chintan is granted a superpower that allows him to understand women like no one else. Amitabh Bachchan appears in a special cameo as Chintan’s father, adding further gravitas to the project.

The film features a notable cast, including Yash Soni in the lead role, alongside Deeksha Joshi, Tarjanee Bhadla, Bhavini Jani, Kalpana Gagdekar, Chetan Daiya, Vaishakh Rathod, Deep Vaidya, and Om Bhatt. Produced by Anand Pandit and Vaishal Shah, the film has been praised for its blend of humour, heart, and insight, sparking conversations about women’s experiences in everyday life.

Yash Soni, who plays Chintan, remarked that Gujarati cinema is currently experiencing an exciting phase, with stories that are both culturally rooted and universally resonant. He expressed hope that the Hindi version would allow the film’s message to reach a wider audience, emphasising the importance of regional films transcending language barriers.

‘Unfiltered Naari’ has already received an overwhelmingly positive response from Gujarati viewers. The Hindi release aims to continue this momentum by inviting a broader audience to engage with its themes of empathy and understanding.
