Singer Lady Gaga welcomes first child after months out of spotlight

Lady Gaga has welcomed her first child with fiance Michael Polansky, according to multiple reports, marking a major personal milestone for the singer following a lengthy stretch out of the public eye.

The couple were spotted walking in northern California earlier this week, with Gaga carrying the baby in a front sling. Page Six was the first to report the news after publishing photographs from the outing, with People later confirming the arrival. The baby’s name and sex have not been disclosed, and Gaga has not yet publicly commented on the birth.

Gaga, 40, has largely stayed away from the spotlight since wrapping her nine-month Mayhem Ball world tour in April, which included 86 shows worldwide. She was reportedly seen in public only a handful of times over the summer, including once while shopping in May, the same month she contributed songs to the ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ soundtrack, and again in August when she stopped for a photo with a fan.

The singer, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, got engaged to Polansky, a technology entrepreneur, on April 1, 2024, though the couple kept it private for several months before Gaga introduced him as her fiance during the Paris Olympics that summer. She has previously spoken about wanting to become a mother, telling Elle in January 2025 that she saw family as something that shapes who a person becomes.

With her touring and acting schedule currently clear, Gaga is expected to spend the coming months focused on her growing family.
